A solo trip to Hampi-Anegundi, Part-II

On the second day, I rented a scooter that cost me Rs.250 for a day from Uramma homes. It made my commute a lot easier. I started at 6 am in the morning and the first place on my list was Anjeyanadri Hill. From here on, few colleagues from work joined me for the rest of the day. Needless to say, it was super fun.

Gopalpur: Hidden Treasure of Odisha

Smell the sea, and feel the sky, let your soul and spirits fly. – Van Morrison

I chose to visit a beach on quite an off-season but my love for the sea got me to this beautiful beach in the town of Gopalpur, located at about 16kms from Berhampur in the southern part of Odisha. This beach is also known as sailor’s paradise beach. Gopalpur was once a thriving commercial seaport and is famous for its pristine beach. Gopalpur-on-sea is small, safe and less exposed compared to other beaches in Odisha yet it is a wonderful retreat for beach lovers.

Mumbai: Rediscovering the city that celebrates life

Mumbai, call it a city of dreams, a city that never sleeps or the maximum city. There are tons of reason why people come here and fall in love. It is wonderful to see how people of Mumbai cherish the simple joys of life starting from enjoying the first rain, walking by the beach holding hands even in their 60’s, sharing love in abundance, struggling, surviving and still smiling away, the torrential rains, chaotic crowd,  heavy traffic, severe pollution, deadly attacks, and huge poverty will seem like the city might just come to an end but it is surprising to see how the city rebuilds itself every single time, the never-say-die attitude in every Mumbaikar is worth looking upto.

A Day at Navadarshanam

Living in Bangalore gives us so many interesting options, it is for us to discover the unexplored. This time I decided to visit a place called Navadarshanam situated nearly 50km from Bangalore in Thally block, Tamil Nadu. I had heard quite a lot about this place and was very much interested in learning about their practices.

Chennarayana Durga: First Trek with BMC

For most of us, the end to a routine week calls for a celebration. It is the same for me on most weekends if not traveling, either to party or laze around at home hopelessly. However, the second week of August was all about challenging my stamina, Trekking! I trust it is any day better than despising oneself of becoming a couch potato!

Nandi Betta- Overnight rides, Hills & More

To break the monotony of our routine lives, most people like me look forward to weekends for a quick escapade rather than the usual getting sloshed over the brewed beer that Bangalore is famed for. When in Bangalore, Nandi is definitely the first choice that comes to one’s mind for weekend gateways. It gives a complete experience from enjoying overnight drives, halts by the tea stalls, late-night snacks, endless gossips to picturesque drive up the hills, beholding a beautiful sunrise and adoring the panoramic views from the hilltop marking the beginning of a delightful weekend.

Shivanasamudra Falls: Welcoming Monsoons

“I love the sound and power of pounding water, whether it is the waves or waterfall.”- Mike May

My love affair with any form of water body continues. It was one of the weekdays when a friend called in early morning to check if I could take a day off from work to visit this place popularly known as Shivanasamudra falls. I had very little knowledge about this place. Considering that this would be my first time watching an emerging waterfall for real and with Monsoons being just the right time, I did manage to escape work.
